Farewell Tiger Brewery – Last Bottling in Sept 1989

The old brewery at 438 Alexandra Road had been the home of APB for some 60-odd years. The brewery was then set in a low-rise residential area and many even remember the signage and billboards which became landmarks of the Alexandra Road area.

APB’s management then had to expand to increase production while improving on production efficiencies and quality control. It was decided after a discussion with the Ministry of Trade and Industry that a green field site would be a far better investment in the long run and thus the construction of the brewery to a tune of $200 million dollar was built from scratch in Tuas.
